I just got my m2 and I'm still deciding if I should get a bike now or wait till next season. I'm only 22 so insurance is also a big factor on my decision. It's great to read the experiences and advice you guys have on here. Hope to my share some of my own when I get on the road.

When I was 20 I bought my first bike in the fall.

Then the decision was to store it for the winter or go south for some riding?

LOL - got back from Florida 6 months later....you have got to do these things while you are still "free" ;)

Buying in the off season should net you some savings. Also there's still good weather heading our way, so you can get in practice and cement your basic skills before the winter. I'm the same age, I know insurance sucks but it's not gonna change anytime soon
 
I heard that 25 years old is the age that insurance rates drop. In the meantime you might want to look at bikes 500 cc and under to save money.
 
I'm currently looking at the Suzuki GS500f or a Kawasaki Ninja EX500 which I can find a used one for a reasonable price. Any suggestions?

Both great bikes. I ride a naked '08 GS500 and love it. I've also heard nothing but good things about the EX500
 
Welcome! I just bought my bike 2 weeks ago, I agree if you can get one now there will be deals to be had. plus there will be some great riding days yet! come on mother nature!!!!
