Dear Men and Women in Black,

I don't have your contact information so I'm posting this here for your information. FYI, I am old, white and male so you don't need to fear me.

I just wanted to warn you about this section that you probably want to look into, called Fallen Riders. Don't take it at face value, it's all code even though the discussion appears to be centered around actual events. Those contributors are almost all up to no good, probably scheming to damage public property like the speed bumps on the Forks, or to publicly humiliate our chosen leaders like Helena Jaczek. Please take action immediately to preserve these cherished and essential contributors to a society devoid of pleasure.

Thanks,
fastar1

P.S. Their leader is named Paul.

Dear Mr. Ducky,

Can vengeful librarians pores over things, or do they pore over them?

Or is it that the single librarian pores over things?

10-100

Depends on how you interpret the statement. To me, "vengeful librarians" was used to denote an entity and not as a specific group of people, so in this case the use of the plural "pores" is correct. Maybe I should ring up my Gr XII English teacher for clarification...?

How in the **** did you guys manage to turn a story about massive government survelance into a grammer debate.

We are hopeless... :angry7:

Now it's a spelling bee. I think Gummiente is one of them. He's trying to distract us from the real problem.

We have... uh, I mean I have no idea what you're talking about. :evil5:

for the record, ctv writers didn't even write the article. it came off the ap wire, so give credit where credit is due.

as for the article, it comes as no surprise. ever since 9/11 the american government has used passive surveillance on the internet. . .

whether that violates our privacy or not, is a different question, but i do find it interesting that they have determined that social networking can be an accurate predictor of human behaviour and attitudes.

let's face it, imho, the internet is a public place, and if the info is put out there, then it's fair game.

Any information gathering operation is going to use anything it can to do it's job. If you choose to use social networking or an open forum then don't be surprised if something comes back to bite you if you do something stupid with it.

It's not private what you type and send. Just like it's not private if you go down town and start yelling something on the street.

Carnivore was sniffing emails for key words and flagging them for analysis back in 1997. The Narus system (Narusinsight) replaced that with a superior spy network and there is an even better evolution on the same theme that came on line a few years back.

LOL, any IT company that is owned or backed by IN-Q-Tel could possibly be spying on electronic media....

If this is "news" to any of you get out from under your rock.
