Hey GTA Motorcycles !

welcome to the forum! good luck finding your bike, and have fun at RTI

I feel a 600 is not a beginner bike argument coming, lol. Welcome and good luck I started on a 650, 250 was just to small for me but to each their own

If you've never been on a bike before, I'd suggest you take your M1 & course before you buy your bike to get a feel for it.

Welcome!!

Welcome to GTAM.Is the bike new or used?

I bought a 250 in the fall and can't wait to ride it. I'm sure once you take the RTI course you'll realize that a 250 is a ton of fun for a first bike.
Welcome and good luck!

Good luck with your bike search and RTI course. I picked up a 250R for my first ride, my wife and I am also enrolled at RTI (in Guelph) for late April. The info and points made on this site helped with my decision on a first time bike. Great site.

A 250 is a great bike to learn on. They are very popular for beginning riders. They also hold their value very well, so when you do decide to upgrade you will get most of your money back to put towards something larger.

I personally don't buy the "You'll get bored with it" argument, You MAY get bored with it, but that really depends on your own personality.

I put 2000 kms on my 250 from September to December and I rode it mostly to work (5km each way) so many afternoons were spent on longer rides. Choosing pretty roads with plenty of curves means you don't need to be running fast anyway.

For me leaving the office, and going for a 2 hour motorcycle ride, on any motorcycle, is far from boring. It's just so wonderful to ride the machine, to hear the song of the engine and the wind noise. To ride winding roads, to find a comfortable line through the curves, To smell the country around you........

Ah Man, where the hell is spring!!
