Daniel installed most of the accessories on my bike seen below:

Whatmybikelookslikenow.jpg

The black ZZR600 in the background is actually my bike, after an accident in late Sept 2010.

Now to set things straight right from the beginning, Im not after Daniel, however I want to share my experience with him.

I met Daniel in 2010, when he changed the rubbers on my ZZR. Nice guy, friendly, clean shop and appeared to take care of things.

In late Sept 2010 I got into an accident with the ZZR, and I quickly remembered Daniel, called him and he said to have it towed to his place. All good. Next day he takes me and the bike to the accident reporting centre (of course the transport there and back is would in the end be covered by insurance)

After an estimate and the ok from the other insurance company Daniel orders the required parts. Months go by and he finally gets the bike together. Daniel delivers the bike to my door step early 2011 (it was still snowing)claiming all work is done and the bike looks same or better than before.
Well it did not, and I will only list a few things, since these are actual safety items that Daniel ‘missed’?:
-Clutch lever bend in such a way that one could hardly squeeze it
-Handle bar ends scratched (bike hit the pavement)
-Rear Handles scratched
-Front side fairing had a crack
-Windshield was scratched
...the list goes on

(Mind you, this accident wasn’t my fault and the other insurance was paying for the damages, so I wasn’t being cheap and told Daniel NOT to cut corners.)

The Adjuster comes out, and notes all items still damaged. (And let me tell you, he wasn’t a happy camper to see the bike like this)

Daniel picks the bike up again, and it goes back to the shop. An additional $1000 later to the insurance company, he tells me to pick up the bike.

When I arrive (At Daniels shop in March), I notice that the windscreen is still damaged, and the cracked fairing not replaced but plastic welded and re-painted. (yes, you can see the weld slightly).
Daniel says that he has problems getting the screen and to take the bike anyway. He would try to get the screen.
This is the first time I get to ride the bike. ALL OTHER ISSUES HAVE BEEN RESOLVED, besides the windscreen.

After calling him for months after all that, he still isn’t able to get the screen, claiming his supplier has it on back order. Sorry Daniel, but I only had to make two phone calls to get the same screen, which was in stock at a GTA dealer. So Daniel goes and buys from the dealer I found, and after all that, I have to go BACK to his place and pick up the screen. – wasting more time and fuel going there.

After all that, 400kms after picking the bike up from Daniel, the lower engine cover (that he replaced) starts leaking oil. – which I fixed and re-sealed on my own time and cost.

Total time it took him to get my bike ready: Sept 2010-March 2011
Total time to get the screen: Sept 2010-May/June 2011
*I’m completely aware that some parts will take a while, and can be on back order, but by no means will it take 6-9 months

Would I recommend Daniel after all this? Heck NO.

Anyone can miss a small/minor thing, but to send out a bike like he did the first time, that is just plain outrageous. There simply isn’t an excuse to miss that many things. I did not even get an apology or anything.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS SHOP

So you told Daniel " to cut corners" .. ?

And have you talked to him in person before blasting him on here?

I think he's saying that he didn't tell him him to cut corners since insurance was paying for it.

but I think you should also be aware that if he did what dealers did and report everything with a scratch on it your bike probably would've gotten written off.

Absolutely, however a cracked fairing, bend clutch etc should not have been overlooked.

The bike was like new before...

Why not take the bike back to Daniel; show him the damage and explain why you are frustrated. Did you not give your bike the once over before you left? Did you not notice this clutch issue before you made a turn onto Ingram?
To me it sounds like you were in a rush and excited to get your bike back on the road in March, that you didn't confirm all the work you wanted done was actually completed. People make mistakes and sometimes forget; give the guy an opportunity to do his best to correct it before bashing his shop and quality of the work.

I guess my writing isn't clear.

The first time Daniel delivered the bike is when I noticed all the issues. – clutch, fairing etc. This is when the adjuster showed up and the bike went back to the shop (Daniel picked it up) Weeks and weeks later does he call to inform me that the bike is ready (again)

I did not ride the bike until I picked it up in March.

you clearly did not read my last few lines "Anyone can miss a small/minor thing, but to send out a bike like he did the first time, that is just plain outrageous..." You get an opportunity if you miss minor things, but not when you F up to this degree. Sorry we are not talking about a missing smile here.

I’m not bashing, I’m telling everyone how it is. Im not making up **** or trying to cover my mistakes. These were Daniels mistakes, and not once did I hear a "Oh crap man, this was totally my mistake and it should have never happened"

To put all this into simple words: “When you F up, you own up to it”

It should have been clear before; however, I hope its clear now.

Of course i wanted my bike, who wouldnt, but the first time it was dropped off was in the winter So do NOT assume things here.

So what was the condition of the bike before the crash? things you didn't notice before but noticed now because you're looking for them?

It seems the OP has a straight forward post of times and convos.
The OP left his bike with a certified shop for several months and they did not do what they were contracted to do nor did they fix their mistakes after it was made known to them.

* I do not know either parties involved.

Hi Everyone

In Growth, sometimes you have bumps in the road. Our aim is to always learn and provide complete and professional service and repairs. As Heritage has developed from an infant to an adult. We have made mistakes and learned from them. We tried our best to provide the best possible service to this client. We can not control the flow of parts or what suppliers have in stock. When something is back ordered, patience and time is required. We apologies for that, and have found new and able suppliers since the early days. Cutting wait times almost in half.

Our growth as a company and service center has come leaps and bounds, how many shops would transport a motorcycle to an MTO reporting station.

We have tried our best to have 100% customer satisfaction, in reality, that is almost impossible. Our reviews, of real world clients speak of this. Thank you all for the business the last 4 years, many of you have been with us since the very beginning and watched us develop.

Thank You All,

Have a great day everyone and Ride Safe.

Daniel

Ok, sounds like your bike got mixed up with the winter storage customers. Was any of this damage present before the accident? Did you end up getting your bike fixed to your satisfaction in the end on the insurance companies dime at another shop, out pocket or do you still have these issues with your bike?

As stated before, the bike was in MINT condition before the crash. I did not have a single scratch on the bike.
I take a lot of pride in having a clean and flawless bike. I look out for my belongings, I pay attention to detail and I'm not reckless. All vehicles that I own, have owned are immaculate. So please do not assume I'm some yahoo trying to rip off the insurance company or Daniel. Like I said before, I’m not out to get Daniel or anybody. Im stating what I experienced, and the lack of professionalism I received in the end. Was my bike restored to the same or better condition (as the insurance companies say) NO, you can still tell that farings’ have been replaced/welded. How can you tell? The weld is noticeable if you take a good look, the fairing that was replaced is missing the foam heat/noise insulation that is glued on the inside, and it's now a very tight fit. You have to fight it back on to get the screws back in.
Did I point out these flaws, of course, all I got was, this is the best we can do, and it looks pretty good to me’. If I could use the phrase “Thats all we can do, and it looks pretty good to me” on my own clients, I would be the richest man in the area.
In all honesty, after that, I lost all faith in him, and figured anymore work performed by him on my bike, would result in nothing better than what I was looking at. - That is also the reason why I ended up replacing the engine cover gasket myself after it started leaking (it was also replaced by Daniel), because after all that I had no faith, and I was tired of wasting my time.

...as above, some issues still exist, other issues I resolved on my own time and money

Getting your bike written off is usually the best option due to it being the fastest resolution, unless you're either attached to the bike, or you don't have a reasonable expectation of recovering the value due to mods / rarity of the bike.

Re: Heritage Auto & PowerSports...Service, Repairs, and Upgrades.... SPRING IS HERE..

WOW! I wish I'd read this thread before I went to that shop! They gave me back an accident waiting to happen! For anyone thinking of having work done at Heritage ... don't do it!
