Help: Replacing Oil Pan on my 2003 Honda CBR600RR

Hello

I have a quick question... I am replacing my oil pan on my 2003 Honda CBR600RR because of a hairline crack.

I just downloaded the Service Manual and I was wondering if anyone knows what a "STAY" is.

This is exactly how it is stated in the manual... "Remove the oil pan flange bolts, stay and oil pan"

I tried googling it but I am stuck and was wondering if anyone on the forum knew what it is?

Thank you for your help...

My guess (and it's strictly a guess) is that it will be some kind of bar to attach the belly fairing to with the other end supported by oil pan bolts.

Thank you for your input GreyGhost... although you are taking a guess at what a "STAY" might be... that actually makes sense and I think you may be right... I will take a closer look at the bike and see if anything is attached to the oil pan that holds up the lower/belly fairings.

Just a fancy term for "bracket" or some support rod
