Hello everyone... I just bought these awesome knockoff pazzo levers(lol) but I'm having problems installing em... There is something that I'm missing that's making my brake light stay constantly on unless I push the brake lever outward (opposite direction) . The lever doesn't seem to be sitting flush.. Can someone please help me who has already installed these on their bike ... I really like em and don't wanna return em just yet till I figure out what exactly Is wrong with em... Please need help ASAP... Thank you

Does the lever stick when you pull it in? if it does, give 'er a file down till the movement is smooth. Or send them back.

dremmel is your friend

if you don't fix that problem it will lock up your front brakes and likely cause you to crash.

Check your brake light switch too if all else fails. I had one that was ok with stock levers but a little sensitive with aftermarker levers (crg's). I swapped out the switch for a different on and it was ok.

Match up the oem lever with the knockoff and maybe determine what is wrong...maybe some fine tuning with a file or dremel...if it don't work can't send it back. Hit and miss with Chinese knockoffs...the black ones will change colour...purple to pink to silver. Just wasted $30- $40...best to buy quality..can't afford...save up and the next owner will appreciate them too.

I have had the Black and silver ones and they have been perfect to me, No fading, work perfect, looks awesome and I have had them on my bike for coming up on 3 years and the bike is driven daily rain or shine and stored outdoors.

Did you put any grease on the pivot bolt when yuo installed them?
When you push them out does the light stay off when you let go or does it turn back on again?

I installed some knockoff levers on my bike this weekend. They werent meant for my bike so i anticipated some work on them. The clutch lever fit in perfect no sweat. The brke lever however was troublesome. I got it milled down roughly 1/4" (they were meant for a ZX9 and ive got a 125R) then i had to use some grind stone persuasion as certain points to make sure it didnt interfere/ catch on anything.

It sounds like you may need to grind down the tip that presses in the master cylinder piston or area that rests on the Housing above the brake switch (see circle 2 in my pic below). Either that or the little "pit" of the elbow (circle 1), you can try grinding that in, as i was having similar difficulties until I realised it wasnt seating in fully and the hole centers were not aligned.

Here's a pic showing areas I had to grind abit.

i dont understand why people cheap out on the parts of the bike that mater...
cheap out on leds, and run cheap gas....fine, but your levers control your brakes... kinda important.

GP bikes has no tax today, and they also have a 20% off coupon that expires on the 15th, buy real ones that are designed for your bike, they are worth it. they are $209 there (ive already got them but was looking at them in the shop today)
i think there are also other brands that you can get that are about $100-150 but dont know off the top of my head.

Because 9 times out of 10 if you have done your research they will work just as good as the expensive ones.....

so (with your math) a 10% failure rate is acceptable for a part that can save your life.
your call.

in fairness, ive heard there are SOME good ones...but there are too many knock offs out there, ide save money on less vital parts and pony up on the important ones.

very true, but i personally dont want to gamble on that lol.

espeically if a one of those 'left turn lucy' cagers happen not to see me, i want to know my brake lever wont snap off.

but to each their own!

+1
like cheaping out on a rear seat cowl instead =)

sorry, OP as some one mentioned here above, if it's your brake switch its a quick and easy fix, i think it was 20 bucks?
mine was dead last year

thats what i did... i bought a $30 cowl with free shiping (20-40 days...oh well). i see no safety issues with it and i saves over $150 on a OEM honda one.
also, im considering changing the color of my tail section so buying a oem one in red to have to buy another one mid summer or next summer just doesnt make sense. ive heard the el-cheapo ones paint chips so im gonna wrap it in the 3m chipguard or clear coat it again.

here, get some good refurbs.

I'm a firm believer that made in China **** without the supervision or quality assurance check from a Western country is shoddy. Read this thread and it's links for a multitude of threads involving accidents with cheap China levers.

^^This. I wouldn't cheap out on parts that my life depends on.

When i go a knock off pazzo for my bike, the area that was supposed to be pressing the brake lights weren't connecting, so the brake light was always on. So i decided to get real ones and the fitment was perfect.
