I want to share some info:
Kapscomoto at Pickering has some really cheap helmets. Only XL sizes left over. Sale person mentioned that they have DOT for motorcycles on the road but no certified for snowmobiles etc. If anyone interested for spare helmet please have a look below:

If you have a $30 head wear a $30 helmet.

Agreed. I would never buy it my self however I know some will do it. Maybe for indoor Go karting with max speed limit 25mph...

DOT is DOT - whether for road or off-road use - that's BS.

If it is a Koi helmet just buy another helmet
perfect for when the first one starts smelling all Koi pond like

Where can you find $30 face shields?

Same place where you can find these cheap helmets.
Just buy a whole new helmet and take out the shield.
Leave the rest as spare parts
