helmet mounted camera

you could be right but if that was the case than why would be so many manufactures be selling them for that purpose only.

you can buy a gun at SAIL but it's still illegal to use in certain places.

To answer your question... It's probably not ok...

I run a Drift HD Ghost on my helmet when up north, but why would you want to wear one for your test? Arguably given all the rules you need to comply to and the fact it is slow speed city driving the footage would be extremely boring.

There are all sorts of helmets in the world, not just motorcycle helmets. And there are some motorcycle helmets that aren't used on public roads, so the helmet laws don't apply.

it makes it more safer to ride when you have cameras recording no matter where you are on your motorcycle and its also a fact that certain number of people fail the road test even though there may not have been enough reason for them to fail. if you have a front and back faceing cameras on your helmet than atleast you see can after which mistakes caused you to fail.

And the tester can just say NO you're not taking the test because you look like an idiot... and attaching a camera to your helmet is illegal.

Someone on the forum asked the tester to record the test and he/she posted it on GTAM. It was the Brampton route.

When I showed up to the test, the tester just said I wasn't allowed to record it and that I'd be in trouble if he saw the red light go on on my cam. I just took it off.

I've had multiple cops talk to me (randomly cause they're bored I guess) complimenting me on my helmet cam and "how cool it is". Both York Region.

I find that when I have the camera on (even if it isn't recording), most people keep their distance behind me vs when I don't.

are you a tester with the ministry. if you call someone an idiot and if its on his camera than the tester would get in trouble but if its illegal than the tester can inform to you nicely and ask you to take them off than you can ask him nicely to show you where does it say that it is so. In this day and age if someone has a problem with a camera than it makes you wonder if they want to fail you and are afraid that the cameras will show no mistake on your part and than you may challenge your fail.

I think it was sarcasm......

besides, it is illegal to have a camera mounted on your helmet.

If it is truly illegal can someone please post something official stating that? Unless I am just commuting I typically have my Drift mounted to my helmet, especially if I am heading to or coming back from a ride up north. Never had any issues passing any police yet, and I do find other cars/drivers behave better around me when they think they are being recorded (even if not).

does anyone know if they allow helmet mounted camera for m licence road test. if not does anyone know why not. anyone had any experience regarding this.

Took my M road test with the camera attached. Dude kept asking me if it was on (I don't know why he was so nervous).

I passed the test with near perfect. It's not a problem. It's one of those stupid laws (like the no smoking in your car bylaw in some cities) that are rarely enforced.

ok thanks as this post clearly says that they can charge you for attaching a camera to your helmet. any idea about attaching them to your bike because i think that camera with vibration is still much better than having no camera at all.

Nothing wrong with that. Also, ram mounts have a little rubber coating that helps reduce vibrations. I had mine mounted to my bars with the GoPro bike mount and it actually wasn't that bad.

How about you look it up yourself. Here's a hint; ask someone that ever got a ticket for a mohawk on his helmet. It's not the fact that it's a camera, it's illegal because you can't have anything attached to the outside of your helmet.

the drive tester ripped the gopro case & mount (sticky mounted behind the mirror) off our truck when my wife did her G. tossed it in the backseat. there wasnt even a camera in it. he referred to it as a distraction
