Helmet advice needed.

Pretty sure my pig snout Simpson helmet from the early 80's isn't going to be enough to protect my bucket anymore so it's time to start looking for something designed in this millenium. The plan is to buy a candy burnt orange Ninja 650R if my dealership can find one which they say they can. So I'm looking for a helmet in the $200-700 range that will do the job properly and still match the bike somewhat. I know there are solid orange helmets out there but that's just not me.

Any recommendations for a helmet that meets my needs would be greatly appreciated.

Also what features and safety ratings should I be looking for?

TIA.

That's a huge range in price. I'd suggest going into your local bike shop and trying a few on and see what you like and then decide on the looks after.

Find a helmet brand/model that fits you well and worry about the rest later. After reading a helmet test somewhere on the internet, I would give the cheaper brands a try as well as the more expensive ones like Shoei and Arai. Here is a good thread here... http://www.gtamotorcycle.com/vbforu...eed-some-feedback&highlight=helmet+comparison

There is a Bell convertible that Thom uses he swears by. I like open face 3/4 but have to admit his looks good and Bell fits me well. PM him if you want the model.
I like chatting with people when riding and being able to it a store without pulling the helmet off.

Comm friendly a good idea too tho most are these days.
