Hello GTAM

Hey this is my first post in this forum, just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Gary new rider would love to get a r6 for next summer so any helpful points or suggestions would be great. I was actually referred by an old friend Gareth who passed in the summer RIP bro . So i finally did the M1 and M2 with RTI , now ready for a bike.

I'd suggest not starting on an i-4 supersport. Look at the parallel twins instead (GS500F, Ninja 500, Ninja 250, CBR 250) if you want a sporty-type bike. The powerband is much more forgiving.

Give this a read.

Of course, the ultimate decision is up to you on what bike you get, I'm not going to try and force you to buy any particular bike.

Ride safe and stay safe, sorry to hear about the loss of your friend.

hey Sabex thank you so much. i would love to get one but haven't rode in many years it's been about 10 years since i actually rode, but kids, house, lack of funds let my license run out so its better i consider my self as a newbie. That is a nice write up thanks again. i was looking at a 02 fazer 6 more of a touring sport i guess better riding position then the r6 but also like the gs500.

Welcome!!

Welcome, I was one of Garreth's friends too. You sound like someone that could prob start on an R6, just got to take it easy:)

Ah, I thought you had never ridden before. The fazer is a nice bike; and would be easier on the body during long periods in the saddle. Just be sure to take it a little easy at first, until you've had enough saddle time to refresh your riding skills.
There's also the nice v-twins like the SV650. Or you can go the route of the 3 cylinders; Triumph has the Street Triple (675cc) and the Daytona 675, both are also great bikes although parts might be a little bit harder to find if you need to replace something.

Also be sure to check insurance prices before finalizing a sale.

Thanks guys
@killerkeith i like half of yours too

@rafiki911 I knew Gareth since high school i remember he taught me standard on his CRX..LOL , he was taken too soon.
thanks for that confidence boost needed that
Way too soon, seems the best are always taken early. Any time, if you need peeps to ride with in the spring let me know:)
