A few of us are heading down leaving next Friday (28th). I have posted our planned route in three different links below representing 3 days. We are middle aged in search of Twisty roads that get the adrenaline pumping and all the other good things. I have planned the routes mostly from research but looking for first hand experience. We plan on riding the BRP down into NC and make our way across. If anybody can make recommendations for sights and great roads it would be much appreciated. We would gladly take advice on accommodations as well.

cheers,

You have some good routes there. The Dragon is very technical and busy with lots of traffic but the other roads in the area are just as good or better. 28 Between Robbinsville and Highlands is a great ride. Also, I see you have 80 from Marion up to the Blue Ridge. I did this for the first time last month and it's an awesome road. Very much like the dragon with less traffic. Stayed at the 2 Wheel Inn in Robbinsville NC http://www.twowheelinn.com/ which I highly recommend. You get a room for your bike as well. They might be booked up for next weekend, however. In Nashville we stay at the Best Western Music Row http://www.nashvillebestwestern.com/ which is inexpensive for a downtown hotel. It's about a $10 cab ride to Broadway and 2nd Ave which is where all the fun is in Nashville. Have fun.

Is that not the US Fourth of July weekend??

The Fourth falls on a Thursday this year. They'll probably treat it a lot like Thanksgiving and be off from July4-7.

I would prefer to ride the BRP northbound so that the sun isn't in my eyes. The 219 is a nice road the further south you go and also a really nice ride through Monongahela.

Willville bike camp is a good spot to crash about the halfway mark along the BRP. If I recall he has a few bike chalets in addition to lots of camping space.

If you stay at Willville Bike camp grab some subs from the farmers market in town, They are awesome, that or after riding all day I'll eat anything lol.
