Has anyone hit an animal?

Just out of curiosity, has anyone hit any type of animal/object on their bike and survived to tell the tale? I'll share some of my experiences, in the 4 years I've been riding.

1) Recently, I was riding down a dirt road and, out of nowhere, this random cat shot out in front of me... and well, I didn't have any time to react as I was going 90km/h and all I heard was this high pitched screeching sound. Then I looked in my mirror and saw him/her roll around for a split second, as if they just got knocked backwards, then the little guy regained his balance and darted to the side of the road like a bullet. I pulled over and couldn't find any sign of a body, so I'm assuming there was no serious incapacitating injury. I'm pretty sure I hit the cat with my back tire, and I barely dinged him/her as it was running past. The worst part is that I was filming with a GoPro at that time and I actually got footage of it.

2) I can remember driving down Davis Drive in Newmarket, and I ran over a pizza box while turning onto Main Street, which nearly made my back wheel slide out from underneath me. I slid sideways a little and was able to regain control, as if something out of a video game.

3) I was driving north on Yonge Street, in the Richmond Hill area one night, and I had a passenger on the back. Suddenly, the bike went THUMP, as if I just ran over an invisible, non-existent brick. It was the weirdest thing. We stopped and looked around, but couldn't find anything that would cause such a horrible bump. I was a little concerned I may have popped my front tire or dented the rim, or something. Even after the cat incident, and sliding on a pizza box... the bump I felt that night doesn't even compare.

4) I was out for a ride last night with a few buddies, and we were heading south into Newmarket via Leslie street. It was late at night, and my one friend had his tinted visor on, so he had limited visibility. Anyway, as we were approaching the intersection just past Princess Auto, this giant cardboard box appeared right in the middle of the lane. We swerved to avoid it, and didn't have an issue. I had my high beams on, which may have helped. It was just weird. The box looked big enough to fit like six 50' plasma tvs. It was huge... and if there has been a median on that section of the road, I doubt we would have been so lucky.

I've seen pictures of bikes from the aftermath after hitting a deer, and it never looks pretty. Thankfully I haven't had that happen to me, yet.

Hit a rabbit square on. Felt both tires thump over it. Didn't look back.

More than a couple people on here have hit deer. Some have ridden away with cosmetic bike damage, others had an ambulance ride.

I killed a turtle at about 140kph on the Cherohala Skyway. Thankfully it wasn't very big and I was able to crush the little f*cker.

***hole...I saved a turtle I found on the road and gave him a ride, hitting speeds of up to 140kph until I found a nice pond for him...

I hit a Deer on HWY 1 just east of Kamloops BC, last Thursday, at about 110kph I saw 4 deer on the side of the road and they ran across when I was about 20feet from them slammed on the breaks and hit the first one in the middle of its torso. Knocked out as soon as I hit the deer. Came to with a cop standing over me and a couple other ppl standing around. They wouldn't let me up and I just wanted to get back on the bike and keep riding (had to be in calgary).
Cops say I slid 50-70 feet. My bike slid 50feet and went into the ditch. Bike totaled, and all I got was a broken right hand and a sprained left hand.
Not sure what happened to the deer.

HE LOOKS LIKE HE'S HAVING A BLAST! :D

I'll bet he bragged to all his new turtle buddies about his epic motorcycle trip once you dropped him off at the pond. They must have been so jealous. Who say's turtles can't go fast? ;)

ran over tail of a racoon on two seperate occasions. bike rattled a bit. nothing major. didnt go down. the racoons lived on both occasions. racoons's hair were stuck in the front tire the second time around.

Respect..

came upon a dead critter on the other side of the road once. looked like a big squirrel. another one that looked exactly like the dead one trying to bring it to the side of the road. almost near broke my heart.... pulled a u turn. nothing i could do except push the dead critter on to the side away from the road.

Deer jumped directly in front of my bike... wasnt pretty for me or the deer.

Biggest thing Ive hit is a biga$$ dragonfly and that thing delivered a good thump to my chest. I have had birds nearly tag my bucket and just recently almost smoked a family of minks up north, luckily they scattered and managed to get out of the way unharmed.

Woow. Those pictures are pretty gruesome. Made me sick to my stomach.

I still remember the sound of that cat screeching... I can't even begin to imagine the sound that coyote made.
