Harley-Davidson Inc reported higher-than-expected quarterly profit on Thursday as a boost in bike shipments, coupled with strong pricing, allowed the motorcycle maker to navigate cost inflation and deliver on pent-up demand.
If the economy flops in the next 12 months expect that to make a dramatic reversal.
With interest rates (and as a result, financing) going up up up, I'm surprised toys like this are still selling as well as they are. But as always, a lot of people get stars in their eyes when they're buying toys and just rush into "give it to me" stage without much regard to the financials.
Some of the HD folks ( my friends) will buy an HD when it’s time for a new ride and price and financials are seldom part of the equation. It must be an HD product . Good on HD
To each their own but I just don't get the "brand loyalty before all else" thing. For motorcycles I've owned Honda's, Yamahas, Kawi's....for cars, GM's, Chryslers, Hyundai....
I go with what I like at the time and what fits our needs, not a brand.
There's an old saw about if you train a Harley right it can get in a pickup on it's own. Why would a bike maker want to be connected with a support vehicle? I never understood that move, but it likely worked in their favour somehow.

HD would get a licensing fee for every truck. HD fanboy support exceeds truck fanboy support so you may get some dodge/gm owners jumping to ford (and paying the HD licensing fee). Also free advertising distributed through NA and on the road every day of the year.

with 60 phones in our company our IT guy loves the apple users and not so much the 'other phone' guys . Apple just works . I cant speak for HD product.
For some stuff, yes. But for other stuff that an Apple product would be an option, no.
Again, I use what works best for my needs and feel gives me good value for my money. For my cellphone and laptop, yes, Apple. For my set top TV boxes, Androids. For our smarthome lady-in-the-tubes, Alexas.
I could use AppleTV's and Apple Homebox or whatever the hell they're called but I feel the Android and Alexa ecosystems beat both, so that's what I use.
T-Shirt's aren't so bad. Pricey, yes, I've a few HD shirts from destination travels. But yeah, the HD faithfull do take things a bit far with the tatoos and other things they are passionate about.
And on your pickup truck And your garage doors. And the trailer that you use to haul them around. And your jacket. And your helmet. And on every single piece of clothing you own and wear on non-riding days.
There's literally Caribbean islands with no HD dealer (or even HD's) within the entire country who have Tshirts for sale.
Don't get me started on people who buy Tshirts for places they've never actually even been. Seen more than a few people wearing Sturgis t-shirts who I'm 95% sure have never set foot in SD, much less ever ridden their motorcycle past the nearest Tim Hortons lol. I have a personal policy of not getting t-shirts or stickers for places I haven't actually ridden to.
I earned this photo and sticker (and Tshirts) the good old fashioned way, by riding to and from.
