Harbor Freight - trailer bearing seals?

Picked up one of those trailers the other day. Assembled it in the weekend, opened up the hubs to grease the bearings last night, and thought I'll just pick up a couple of seals from Princess Auto on my way home from work. Hold and behold---I can't find these kinds of seals anywhere! These are metric rubber seals, 30mm ID, 52mm OD, 10mm width. Really disappointed!

Anyone knows where I can get such seals (other than driving down to Harbor Freight again)? Or maybe I should just buy two new standard hubs, but would they even fit the HF axle?

Two options:

1) Purchase the seals from HF online + international shipping:
SKU# Part# Description Price (plus tax & shipping)

28735 18 90153 BEARING (30205) 1 PC $11.99
27737 99 42708 SEAL 4 PK TRAILER $5.99

2) Purchase two new spindles + hub assembly with standard sizes.

I was looking in getting a spare bearing for HF trailer and the sizing of the bearings and seals weren't standard. So purchasing it locally isn't possible. As yours is brand new, order the seals online from HF.

Two spindles and hub assemblies is $120 locally, plus the cost of welding the new spindles.

I was looking for this exact info! I am glad I did not destroy my seals when I was putting it together.

Thanks!

Just called Harbor Freight. After spending more than 30 mins on the phone, they managed to take down my information, found the seals, and will send me an email or call me within 48 hours to tell me the shipping cost and ask for payment. Any idea how much the shipping could cost for something like that? I ordered 2 x 4-packs.

That's good, but I hope you at least removed them and repacked the bearings with grease, did you? The thing they come with from the factory is not really grease, it's just rust inhibitor.

General axle in Brampton carries all sorts of trailer bearings/seals.

I actually went by the Hitch Factory in Hamilton, and they didn't have such, and said they are not something I could find in Canada, and good luck ordering online, blah blah... Is General Axle just a trailer/hitch store, or it's actually something more than a store that carries only what there's demand for?

They are not a hitch store. It is a place to get anything trailer related basically ie ;bearings, seals, tires etc.

I would like to find local source too.
Please update if there is anyone selling those parts close by.
I did clean inside bearings with carb cleaner and I packed it by hand
and after that with grease gun on the fitting until caps popped off.

I know it is not perfect but hubs are barely warm after hour on 401
and when I get my hands on seals and bearings I will do it properly...

Well, decided that dealing with non-standard parts is not to my liking, so I just dropped off my axle at General Axle, new axel with hubs will be ready tomorrow AM :) Thanks for the recommendation!

They are a common bearing and seal FYI but expensive if you buy good ones and that is all I have access to.

When I was there, he showed me an axle that was already made, even told me how to fill with grease---through the cap and the nipple---it looked like bearing buddies or something similar, which will be included with my axel. So yeah, that'd be quite a good deal I guess :)

So a complete axle (tube with spindles) and hub (with both bearings) for $100!! I'll be going there next year then...
