While I applaud the effort, I don't see the upside for the vast majority of attendees. If your mods suck, you will get towed. If your mods appear ok to that one officer, you get an attaboy but that probably isn't going to help you at the side of the road with a different officer. I guess if you are having a fight with your dealer over a what you believe should be a safety issue covered by warranty having it towed in with an angry note from the cops could support your case. Torpedoed what was left of that relationship though.

Step up! Step up! Come on up to voluntarily deliver your car with illegal mods to the Police!

Don't be shy! But make sure your Uber account is up to date because you may not be driving home.

If they're feeling extra ornery, they can toss a note in the system to flag you and your plates for special attention in the future.

So do you think the cops would find it funny or would you catch a beating if you showed up with your winning raffle ticket in Burlington?
I've come to notice they don't have the same sense of humour they once did.
I'll go with......'beating'.

You're probably right. Do it up north and they might buy you a beer. They seem to be much friendlier once you get north of Barrie police.

Early 60's, there was a cop who followed my old boy home from the bar every other friday night (pay day). Dad would have too many, and this particular cop knew it. He made sure dad got home in 1 piece.
He became a family friend.

Similar story.

My dad worked at an A&W back in U of T days. He became fairly friendly with the regular cops who came by. A month into his job the police pulled up while he was walking home after closing for the night. They gave him a ride almost every night from then on.

Different times...

I follow a Burlington area officer on twitter that posts his daily finds on his travels (in his undercover dodge ram) for all to see. It's great to see he doesn't play favorites and is very strict on tow trucks/insecure loads/black limo tint/distracted drivers, etc etc. Couple days last summer he was on his bicycle riding up to intersections and issuing a ton of cellphone tickets after he tapped on the drivers window to get their attention. I just wish they would pull over a few more middle aged men on Harleys with their aftermarket exhausts after all the young kids they pull over with no mufflers on their cars.

How many of the middle aged men on Harleys with straight pipes also have a shield?

Is that the cop with the black extended-cab Ram pickup with black steel wheels with chrome center-caps, and tinted windows?

(Tell him to write himself a ticket for that tint. LOL)
