For those of you who play or are into guitars, here's my nephew's YouTube channel and a link to his start up company...help me make it go viral and raise some money for his company...

found more on his website...

With zero knowledge of guitars,i took Bernadette to the Elmira Vintage guitar show yesterday. We looked at guitars ranging from $100 acoustics, to $50,000 strat's.
Strange world we live in. Everytime we stopped, i was approached, never Bernadette, who is the guitar collector.
A lot of fun at one particular booth. Bernadette noticed the guy had one Strat hidden behind all the others and asked the odd looking guy why it was tucked away."it's my stage guitar". She pulled a chair over, sat in front him and demanded. Play it! With a bunch of enthusiasm he played for about half an hour. They chatted about guitars, amps and music. He has a cover band that does Tom Petty and Fleetwood Mac shows. AND, he is missing some fingers.
Good times!
Btw,bernadette is a collector.

Did any follow you home? Collective you, not personal you as obviously Bernadette would be the one that cares. Does she play?

Pedant alert!: The red guitar the guy is playing is a tele, not a strat.

Guitar shows are a lot like bike shows, only with more long hair on balding heads and less facial hair. Mostly sausage parties, but united by people collectively nerding out over gear, and differences of opinion over 'period correct' vs modified for performance. I collected basses for a while (I'm down to 6 from a peak of 21), and while the vintage stuff could be pricey, it was a bargain compared to old electric guitars, especially Fender and Gibson...

No purchases. She has enough. Her prize possession is a 58 Strat in near mint condition in the original case with all the paperwork. She has a few others and lots of parts and amps.

Thanks. I'm musically stupid. Ya, most stuff was way overpriced. And it is like a parking lot timmies meet.

That is definitely something special and makes my treasured '63 Jazz Bass look cheap by comparison. Likely worth north of $40-50,000 if all original and a decent player, though it's always hard to separate dealer asking vs. true selling value. Maple neck makes it easier to export, too. (The alternative is a Brazilian Rosewood fretboard, which is now a heavily protected species under CITES and needs special permits to export/import, similar to anything ivory. Mostly this is straightforward, but there are some horror stories about instruments being confiscated and 'destroyed' despite having the paperwork in place).

Cool show!

Glad I didn't know about it. I probably would have parted with some hard-earned dollars if I was there... :D

AND, he is missing some fingers.

There's a long history of great guitarists with missing fingers/fingertips - Jerry Garcia, Django Reinhardt, Tony Iommi, etc. There's a theory that because these guitar players had to learn a different technique of playing, their sound and style is very unique and makes them stand out.

No different from a motorcycle dealership. When Neda walks in to buy a motorcycles, if the salesguy keeps talking to me, then she's made up her mind that she's not going to buy a bike from that place.

I guess Kurt Russel wasn't invited.

Whoa. Not totally sure why they needed an authentic example in the first place when nobody except the most ardent guitar nerd would have noticed the difference. I feel the same way when I see muscle cars smashed up in movies, though that's not as common as it once was (and were often beaters with a fresh coat of paint)...

Years ago, I was really into guitars - I think I own about 11 or so plus 5+ amps.
All collecting dust, It was something I did with my dad, and we he passed so did much of the interest in playing.
It makes me sad at time to see these wonderful things just collecting dust..
Maybe one day, the passion will return?
