Gsxr slipper clutch install

Wondering if anyone has installed a factory slipper clutch in an earlier model? I have a 2001 gsxr 1000......I swapped the stock clutch with a newer slipper clutch,install went well however I'm having a little clearance issue with the rod adjuster and the cover. Not sure if a newer engine case has the extra room I need or if I need to shorten the push rod on the sprocket side and tighten the adjuster screw so it sits flush. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Solved my prob today......newer cover (05 and up) has the clearance needed, also if the small web in the centre is removed it'll make the room with the stock cover too
