hope everybody had a gd summer.

wondering if someone can help me with this.
i gota 2009 gs500, after riding it for say 30 kilometers, the engine stays at high rmp rev. instead of dropping to 1.2 or 1.3, when i close the throttle, it revs a bit higher than 3.1 rpm, Even when i put it on neutral.
never had such a problem with my other bikes.

wud u guys know how to fix it, or wat causes it?
cheers.

idle set is normal at 1.2ish!
it becomes a little harder to start off again at a traffic light when its reeving at 3.1rpm, coz its not clear how much throttle it actually needs b4 letting go of the clutch.

Maybe a vaccum leak.

So you are saying, once the bike is warm, it idles at 3100 rpm. have you tried reducing the idle speed with the idle screw?

My v45 did the same thing. Check your Carb intake manifolds and your air filter. My v45 had chewed up both air filters, and the intake boots were cracked.

@djltoronto; when the bike is warmed up the idle is fine 1.2, but after riding it for say 30 kilometers or so it doesn't drop below 3.2 rpm for some reason. Just keeps revving.

@silverbullet; Will do, thanks.

Like others said sounds like a vacuum leak, Checks boots for cracks, make sure sealed to cylinder head also check for loose.leaking vacuum lines.
