GS500 battery question

While doing a valve clearance check on my bike today it occurred to me when buttoning everything back up that there is nothing holding the battery in, it just rattles around in there. Is that normal?

Alrighty then!

Let me check the fiancée's gs500. I'm pretty sure it's a general safety thing that all batteries in any vehicle be secured into their tray somehow.

Be back in a few mins.

The seat secures it doesn't it?

Yup nothing fixes it in place... it's heavy as hell anyway, and Akshun is probably right, the seat would prevent it from going anywhere

Just make sure that it is a tight fit. If it is not consider that if it bounces up and down the terminals will possible damage the post. Hope I have explained this clearly enough.

from what I remember nothing holds the battery down such as a strap but there are grooves in the place where the battery sits so it will move just a bit but shouldn't slide all over the place nothing to worry about really
