Haha, this is funny. Let me clear the air.
Please don't interpret small movie snipets from 40h+ of riding as continous everyday events.....my videos would look far different if that were the case.
Driving The wrong way around a traffic island is asking for trouble...
There was construction further down that street, we weren't the only ones doing u-turns.
Edit: oh yea. That was part of a larger group. No good excuse for that except after assessing the area it seemed like fun that wouldn't hurt anyone else. GoPros have a bad way of representing what you actually see by skewing it, but objects aren't as close as they appear (e.g. looks like passing some cars too tightly) and since my eyes are higher than the mount I have a better perspective.
Wheelies, going 170+, driving wrong side of the road and then uploading to youtube with your real name.
Winning!
The speeding is either down dead-end country roads without any sideroads (1/4 to 1/2 mile stretches) or down a road which we've already checked. I wouldn't risk doing it in a hazardous area that I haven't inspected first... not worth it. The highway part was a second lap as well, but just a blip. I'm not a speed deamon but if I want a quick taste I'd rather do it for a moment on the highway then in the country or city... it's an SV650 with higher gearing, the bike is for comuting not speeding. Please don't interpret what you see in the clips as something that happens 24/7.
looks like you need a GPS more than anything
Lol, you might be right, but I'll admit exploring and getting lost is still a joy in itself.
Yup. Find a different group to ride with.
Unfortunately the other groups in the area are well, less tolerant of the 'types' of people they're willing to join. Glad to find a group that has enough variety I can grow with and won't be judged. I'll ride with whomever I can teach me something.
And stop learning? Never
I realize that after traveling so much Ontario is uniquely very reserved and the people seem sheltered (I feel like you can buy insurance for almost anything and fewer people are willing to try things for themselves or self-teach) but as long as I'm respectful of others on the road and respectful of police every time I encounter them, I'll keep pushing my comfort zone.
The video isn't meant to display an accurate representation of mine or others riding habits, I'd post unedited 4h clips if that were the case instead of selectively choosing clips that I know others would react to. Glad to see it's working though
Would you post a Google maps link to that bridge please?
It's mostly a single lane road, google map avoids it but its a nice strip of scenery. Just east of Port Stanley: Pleasnt Valley Road.
If you appreciate hidden scenery and you're near Port Stanley, you'll also appreciate Roberts/Sparta Line just north of Port Stanley.
Heard it's bad to do wheelies on SVs...something to do with fuel leaking into the engine or something like that
Haha, didn't do any wheelies myself, I've heard about oil starving on the SV.... but I can see how if you didn't watch the surrounding (in that clip) you can interpret that. Just tucking down and coming back up quick as a I pass a buddy. My speed would have picked up a lot quicker if it was a wheelie. A few threads in the traffic ticket and stunt section of this forum provide more than enough reason not to stunt on the street. I've practiced emergency braking, quick maneuvering, and wheelies, but only in closed parking lots but only after asking security for permission.

I can understand why it's so easy to pass judgement after watching the videos, but it's meant to elicit a reaction. I have this flexibility when I remove a lot of the context from clips and only show you selections. I'm a commuter, love to work on my own bike, and test it in different ways to develop a better understanding. Not to mention not all of the clips are mine. I ride for fun, not to give a bad name. I don't think a video of me getting people get out of ditches, changing tires on the side of the road, giving neighborhood kids rides, or just helping out would be as 'exciting'
