Grey power

Wonder what G-forces are....beyond my math skills. 🤪
Assuming linear acceleration (not a correct assumption) in the ballpark of 2.6g.

Apparently he had 1000' of 4.22 and 290.49 and then ran out of fuel. That puts acceleration at 3.1g assuming constant acceleration.

Thanks - impossible to get peak G without more data....still....fair bit of "hanging on for dear life" . :coffee:

I didnt dig through the internet. There may be 60' time and speed or thrust/weight numbers available to get closer to peak numbers. Definitely quite the ride.

1/4 mile? I thought the big stuff was cutting off at 1000 feet due to braking limits.

I wouldn't want to touch the brake rotors for a while.

It was due to the terminal speed the Top Fuel + FCs were reaching. They are now up to the same speeds @ 1,000' that they were when they changed it in '08 after the death of Scott Kalitta. Difference being the driver cells have improved (and brakes), and the extra 320' to the turnaround means they can still use the classic venues.
