Great tool find

I snapped a head stud on one of my small bikes, it was seized in the block and snapped when I was removing the head.

I tried all the standard tricks including welding nuts to the remaining stud. The stud just kept getting shorter and I was worried it was going to be a machine shop repair.

welded on bolt 3 times snapped the stud.

Where'd you get it?

self tightening? how does it grip the stud?

I think it has the guts of a chuck. Instructions say to use in an impact on low, one bright spark unloaded a 1300 ft-lb air gun and said it damaged the tool but it was still serviceable.

Tom Silva from This Old House just had a video similar to this. He used the chuck of a drill to extract a screw slightly above some wood
