Great Service at A Vicious Cycle

Hi. I have been really impressed with "A Vicious Cycle" motorcycle shop in New Dundee. I had drove by in the past and checked out their website, but they seemed to be Adventure Touring, and Dirt Bikes. I was shopping for hard bags for my VFR and went in the shop to see what they had on hand. They had all the Givi/Kappa, and others as well. They can order just about anything for any kind of bike. I just ordered my Leo Vince Carbon Fibre slip ons from them. Best price I could find anywhere. They are the dealer for Twisted Throttle in Canada, and the prices are very competitive. The owner is friendly, interested in motorbikes, and has the time to talk to you when you are in the shop.
Check them out if you are in the Kitchener/Cambridge area.

I have purchased a few things from them online - good prices and good service

+1 I've ordered online from them in the past with good price and quick delivery. I went into their store a few weeks ago just to check out their storefront and the owner (Eric?) was very friendly, and put aside the work he was doing to come over and talk with me for a few minutes. I wouldn't hesitate to go back.

I have EVERYTHING THAT I SAY DOCUMENTED as e-mail communications and QO/PO/Invoices. I am mature rider, paid in advance, was always polite and got this problem that would like to report.

The seller is impersonal, and sells like is doing you a favour. NONE of their e-mails are signed by the person that wrote (who you are dealing with).

When I could have my order processed, was informed about 3 weeks to delivery. Without ANY kind of explanation, the shipment was partial. When I contact the seller, they inform me that would be partial and more 3 weeks for the last parcel.

There was NO DELIVERY After the 3 more weeks, AGAIN, without any explanation. I contact the seller and was informed that some INTERNAL problems (not mine, definitively....) cause delays. No clear delivery time informed.

After all this miscommunication and bad treatment, I would like to return the piece (one set of exhaust).

Their web site informs
“All returns must be pre-approved through us prior to return. Returns must have a Return Authorization (RA) number written on the box and a signed copy inside the box. RA is void if product is not returned within 15 days of RA being issued. No returns after 45 days of purchase. Products must be returned in new condition and in the original box (never been used). Credit cannot be issued if product is missing instructions, the box, any hardware, and/or is damaged in any way (Please ship everything back to us insured). Returns are subject to a 25% restocking charge or you pay for return shipping. Shipping is non-refundable”.

I contact the seller, clear said that would pay for shipping back and would like to receive full refund (as I never even opened the box).

Seller was rude, claims to be special order and answers:
“YOU MAY NOT NOT NOT Return the exhaust
NO RETURN.
Thank you,
A Vicious Cycle”

As I said, I have all QO/PO/Invoices, not a single word about special order of any of my items. I explain that to seller also.

I know that quality on relationship (approach to client) is subjective. I had one bad experience, some had good with same seller; but denial to return (UNDER store’s terms) is just unacceptable.

I did that to make more people aware about store’s polices. It changes at owner’s discretion. BE AWARE of that if you think to buy at this place.

Thanks

^ Sorry to hear about your experience. I do have to say after having dealt with Revzilla (US online store) and Sturgess Cycle (in Hamilton and a vendor here) both of which were absolutely EXCELLENT with communication - I have found A Vicious Cycle to be lacking...at least in the communications department.

I can't give a full review yet as I have not received my order yet but I will update once I do.

I did find it weird that I emailed them directly about a product that did not show out-of-stock but I wanted to double check on since other vendors were showing it as OOS on their sites. I was told (very much in a short txt-msg format response like the one you received above) it would take 1-2 days to get in.

Since it was after hours when I decided to purchase my items, I ordered off their website. I received a response back a couple days later that the items would be there in 1 week (again, short txt-msg format response).

Crossing my fingers I will receive the items in a couple weeks. Giving them the benefit of doubt for now....hopefully it's just poor electronic communication skills. I have heard good things about them in terms of in-store service.

Just want to give an update on my order with AVC.

Order Method: online via their website
Shipping Method: Expedited Parcel
Order Time: evening of July 22
Order Ship Out Date: August 3
Order Arrival Date: August 7

I ordered 2 Pelican cases by Twisted Throttle. This is the packaging:

The packaging was good and I received an receipt with a handwritten thank you on it which was a nice touch.

What I didn't like was lack of communication - website did not indicate if an item was in stock or not. They actually order from Twisted Throttled, then ship out. In this case, it took them over a week to receive it from TT. If this could be communicated beforehand via their website (perhaps by indicating "Ships in 1-2 weeks", "In Stock", "Backordered", etc.) I think it would save them from some not so happy customers and misunderstandings.
I emailed them 1 week from when I got their notice that it'd take a week to ship to them....they said they were expecting them the next day. No further update from them, so I emailed again a few days later seeing if they'd been shipped. That;s when I received an automated Canada Post msg that they were shipping out that day.

I don't want to accuse them of shipping only after I followed up as it's probably not the case but it also doesn't give the customer 100% confidence in the buying experience.

I would order from AVC again if it's a product that's cheaper than the US and/or only available from them.

I would not order from AVC again if I absolutely needed the item in less than 3 weeks or if the price was the same in another store or the US.

It sounds like a great experience shopping there in person. And it's not awful online but to be honest, I've had better customer service elsewhere so...that's where I'll take it if given a choice.
