Good morning Y'all,
I just drove past the gravenhurst wharf on my way to work. Looks like they are setting up for something pretty big.....as far as gavenhurst events are concerned. I seen areas for Harley and Yamaha. GP bikes even had something set up. Looks like it maybe worth checking out. Hotel in town and Tim hortons were already full of bikes. Can't wait to be done work so I can join in the festivities.

I just saw the route for their organized ride. Southwood Rd 13 with all those cruisers.

Lip service to sportbikes . . . as expected. The logo and all the merchandise feature hard core cruiser motifs. When is tourism going to learn.
The route isn't half bad but do it on a weekday yourself. If you get behind cars on that western stretch, you are screwed by the scarcity of places to pass safely where you can also find a good road surface. My thing in Gravenhurst is to ride to the antique and classic boat show.
 
I wonder how big the group ride is going to be. All those people doing Southwood at the same time should be interesting considering how sandy it still is.

If I were Infernobuster or Motolimo I would be hooking up the trailer and camping out at the barrens and wait for the business to roll in.. or roll over, or just plain roll off the road.
 
Considering southwood rd is a small piece of the route it shouldn't be so bad. The rest of the route is good. Lots of open space. Hopefully there are no cars sharing the road in some spots. Considering its around gravenhurst options are limited for finding car-less routes in the summer that are ideal for cruisers. All the roads are country and there are cityots everywhere. They picked a good route for what they have to work with. Maybe they should just ride up and down hwy 11.
