Grab rail extensions??

So I recently got a new (used) bike. The issue I am having is that my gf can barely reach the grab handles. When she does, it ends up straining her back. Does anyone have any experience with grab rail extensions? Is this even possible? She can hang on to me no problem, so no need for the 'love handles' waist belt. I was thinking about maybe some climbing slings but don't want to break the handles.

Any suggestions would be grand.

Cheers,
S

I'm riding a BMW K75 is that helps.

There are tons of harnesses and handles on line for pilons...heres one on youtube
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gy8MkNznheA its attaches to the bike, there are others that go on your belt and a couple harnesses that you can get too. Designed for kids but will work with adults too from what I've seen.

I don't know how just adding a sling would have any potential to break the handles... you're going to be putting just as much force on them anyway.

My passengers don't even use the handles on my bike. They just hold onto me. Safer and lets me feel if they're still there or about to fall off.

I'd rather have her hang on to me too, but for longer rides she likes to change positions to keep the blood flowing.

From what I can see, if the passenger holds the grab rails, the hands are directly under the hips. this isn't so much an anchor as a pivot point. If they loose their balance backwards as in rapid acceleration, there is nowhere to pull against to counter the force pulling them backwards, so they pivot from their grip point, off the bike.
My passengers hang onto me. That helps them follow my lean and body position and lets me know where they are and if they are going to move around.
