GPS bullets for vehicle chases

It'll be hard to aim at a motorcycle... so we're good :lmao:

Cops have a hard time shooting a dead still target 20' away with a gun... You expect them to be able to hit a fast moving vehicle using their own vehicle as a launch pad?? Good luck.

My first thought as well.

"And Why did you dump your bike on the highway?"

"I got shot with a GPS Bullet"

Gee if the mantra of "you can't run away from the radio" was so true, why the need for this. Oh and a GPS jammer would turn that 500 dollar gizmo to a trunk ornament and nothing more.

These sort of wacky hijinx remind me of ODB-III, with the ability to shut cars down remotely. Will that ever actually happen?

The company developing this is a military contractor looking for markets outside the war theater. It wont be long till it locks on like a guided missel from a fighter plane.
This James Bond stuff is getting affordable and on its way.

A GPS jammer will get legislated out like a radar detector and just add to your charges.

It already has been. Not specifically but there are laws out there already about broadcasting signals with intent to disrupt other signals. But in the heat of the chase I'm sure the cop will realize you're jamming him. Lol.

If you're running from the cops, the last thing you need to worry about are radio signal jamming charges

no need to LOL, since they can detect if you have a radar detector, when an affordable GPS signal blocker gets out I'm sure the police will have it also. The idea as i read it is no more high speed chase, just close and long enough to tag a vehicle.

It might take 8 shots and a tazer........

$500/bullet? **** the taxpayers up the *** why don't ya.

$500 a bullet is much cheaper than what the taxpayer would have to pay for damaged vehicles/property in a chase....

Yes, GM's OnStar does this in the event of an accident or reported car theft.

Yep, I view onstar as an intrusion in so many ways. If I had a gm vehicle with it, it would be ripped out and thrown in a fire. Why on earth would anyone willingly allow someone to listen to them at any time and have control over their vehicle??

you sure you don't mean OBD?

That's the one...

And yeah, OnStar sorta does this, but generally they have the consent of the owner. OBD-III is/was supposed to put that power directly in the hands of law enforcement.
