Got Parking Ticket Today

I used to park in that exact same spot a few years ago - came out to a whole row of ticketed bikes one day and stopped. Didn't bother fighting since it wasn't worth the hassle.

Sucks because it's a bit of a no-man's land for on-street parking down there.
 
I used to park there, got two tickets 2 years ago. I continued parking there, went to trial plead guilty = $20/ticket. Usually there one jackass parking maid that tickets everyone, even the security guard of the lot had an arguement with him. Most of the parking maid don't ticket you.
 
Sorry, but I don't see how that is city property. Is that a municipal parking lot or is it privately held? Is there a sign specifically pertaining to that land? The bikes in the pic are not on the public road. What specific bylaw is noted on the ticket? I would fight the ticket with a lawyer, and make sure you give him a photos of the area in question.

EDIT: sorry, I didn't see that is a green P parking lot. Yeah, you have to pay. Shafted.

You're going to pay $300 for a paralegal to fight a $20 ticket? Where those two bikes and Tundra are parked appear to be the walking path / entrance to the lot.

Doesn't appear that there's any room for someone in a wheel chair to get through unless the bikes were moved and Tundra was towed.
 
Yeah, I used to park on the grass. It actually looks like they've laid out specific motorcycle spots in between the concrete blocks so I figured it was a safe place. Not sure whose property it is, but I think my ticket was for something like park on boulevard.
 
I got that 3 or 4 years ago on my CX for parking on duncan @ pearl with other motorcycles, a variety of different scooters and bicycles on bicycle posts. I don't know if everyone got the ticket, I was just glad my bike wasn't towed as I was there till 4-5am working. Suffice to say unless I'm next to my bike or on private property I don't park on sidewalks anymore.
That aside when I ride through the core of the city I still see bikes parked on sidewalks here and there. I'm pretty sure going across Richmond I saw a whole row of them a week or two ago. I was pretty surprised. I didn't stop to check it out though.

How much do you normally pay for parking there? Nothing?
How long have you been parking there? Long time?
How much was the ticket? Not much?

Quite frankly, as I try to explain to many ppl - with the cost of parking what it is, etc.. Look at it this way..

You can pay for a ticket and display it on your dash, or you can let the PEO put a ticket on your window and pay it later. .... or... you can pay $20 to park in a lot farther away, or park on the street (hopefully closer) and pay $30 later.

It's just a parking ticket - it's not a judgement on your character.

Not sure what your "fight" will be?? Its a Green P lot right? Easy money for the city. I got one of these the first time I ever parked like you did on St Clair a couple years ago. I learnt not to do it again. :mad:
