Got a ticket. Not my car, not my insurance, am I facing the hit?

Hello Good People!

Heading up to the Maple Festival in Orangeville, I was driving up Hwy 10(Hurontario), which has an insanely low speed limit for such a wide, open road(80km/h). In deep conversation with my friends and not even realizing I'm doing 121, I got cherried.
The kind officer reduced it and gave me a 20 over speeding ticket.
Although I'm driving a company car with company insurance, does this affect my motorcycle insurance? I'm assuming the ticket follows the driver.

Thoughts? Suggestions? Experience with court in that area? I don't really have a good defence for this, is it worth risking it?

Thanks!

The ticket is associated with you as the driver, as you committed the offense.

Don't admit to anything, especially on a public forum. There's a very good sticky about fighting a ticket in court.

If you want to pay, I suggest a good ticket fighting service, there are many with good reviews and some are site sponsors here (charged.ca).

Good luck.

That stretch is a good fundraiser. Expect an officer with lots of experience in court. Good luck.

I was once told that you couldn't be hit twice by the insurance companies. If you get a surcharge on your company car they can't ding you for the bike as well. I didn't look it up so maybe an insurance guru can comment.

The surcharge only applies to my truck and not my bike on my insurance. However, that is a combined policy. His might be different as his car is covered by his company and his bike is covered under his personal insurance.

You have demonstrated a level of risk to the insurer. They base the cost of your policy on level of risk. An uninvolved insurer could raise your rates for another policy, let alone your own insurer.

My Dad used to drive ambulance in Dufferin County.
That stretch of road was what kept the ambulance service employed
