What are your tips or tricks that you use? I am fairly new to using gopro... I got a hero 2 at christmas and used it a few times, but im heading to Florida on Friday and swimming with dolphins, and fishing and alot of other stuff so just curious what are the better shooting modes, or other things you would suggest?

If you don't have a second battery I would invest in one, reason being is because when the gopro is in your pocket its got a tendency to turn on...The worst feeling is when you reach into your pocket and notice it was left on, or worse its dead.

When I had my Hero2 I was shooting at 720 @60fps, The reason because you're not really going to notice the difference on the Hero2 between 720 and 1080 and shooting at 60fps you will be able to do "slow mo" shots with little image quality taken away.

For shooting underneath water you will have to colour correct in a post program so everything isnt so blue. Not a huge deal if you dont care.

The stills that come from this camera are pretty good, and takes great selfies haha. I am pretty sure there is a firmware upgrade for the 2 as well, you can find it on gopro's site if its still there. Other then that, the camera is pretty easy to use...If my tech illiterate dad can work one at 55, anyone can.

Already have the second battery and its charged and ready!

Ya i read that and will correct that in the editing afterwards...should be easy enough.

I think mine is up to date, I updated the firmware when i got in it december but will double check.

Get a very large SD card (32 gigs or more) and a couple extra batteries (which you already have), then record EVERYTHING. Trying to turn on/off depending on what might be good footage is hard, it's much easier to just record non-stop and edit out everything crap. There are ways of finding the "good stuff", I particularly like the "Highlight Hunter" app:

http://highlighthunter.com/

Basically when recording if something interesting happens and you want to be able to find it later, you just cover the gopro lens with your hand for 2 seconds. The "highlight hunter" app searches for these periods of black and will extract prior segments based on your setup criteria (ie grab 5 minutes of video before every blackout).

That's an awesome find. Thanks
