GoPro help

Purchased a GoPro Hero HD from a member off here last spring as part of a group buy he was in. Can't for the life of me remember the user name now.
Anyway unit was brand new sealed in the box.
The mic has never worked properly on the GoPro and have been going back and forth with GoPro warranty guys for a couple months now.
I've given them the serial number and all the id#'s on the back I the unit.
They refuse to help me out because I don't have a recite.
I'm not asking for a new unit just a repair??
Any suggestions or am I **** out of luck here?
You would think a big company like GoPro would have better customer service.
 
I think they want proof of purchase and if it's within their warranty period.

What an option is, buy a GoPro from Futureshop, return your old one ;)

I've always found Futureshop to be a real pain in the posterior region to take stuff back to. Maybe this is why.
 
Pretty sure you and I got them from the same group buy... I knew when I got it there would be no warranty with it. You're likely out of luck. But hey, the hd2 is out now, and you can still use the current one when you don't care about the sound. Or it can be the camera you use for those risky shots
