GoPro do you mount on left or right of your helmet?

Got a Gopro 2 for xmas and playing with it now. I got the one with the the helmet straps and 4 sticky mounts. The straps seems kinda useless, they don't fit over my helmet, so i plan to use the sticky mounts. I want to put the curved ones on each of my 2 helmets and was wondering what side of the helmet do most people put theirs? left or right? i guess it doesn't matter much. I'm thinking left will catch more of the traffic and cars around you.

Because I have the Scala on the left side, I mounted mine on the right-hand side and as close to the front of the helmet as possible; I have it set to record in wide-angle, so it has no problems capturing what's going on to both my left and right peripheral vision. If you set it to narrow/normal mode, you'll lose some peripheral and mostly be recording the area between/immediately around your handlebars. You do get a bit of barreling/fisheye effect in wide-angle mode, but for the extra area it captures, it's worth it (and makes the video look kind of cool actually.)

Originally wanted to mount it dead-center on the front of my helmet (chin-bar area) but the Shoei RF1100 doesn't really provide a good mounting surface there; plus if I ever decide to try dragging my chin in an epic highside I might wind up with a throat-mounted camera. :p

Left is probably the best position. You can turn it on if you forget without letting the throttle go. You can adjust it without without letting the throttle go.

I have both my scala and contour mounted on the left. I usually ride on the left tire track of the lane so it gives the camera a better view of the road, not just the car in front

Does anyone have the chest harness? i didn't get one with mine but from the pics on websites it looks really small, will it fit larger guys? (chest size 44" or more). I think the chest position would be best for what i want as i would like an angle that captures the handlebars and bike gauges while also capturing the horizon from dead center.

Easier to turn on/off with cam on the left, but more action shots tend to take place on the right side of the helmet when you are tooling around on the street :)

The helmet straps are meant for vented bicycle type helmets not motorcycle helmets. If you grap a suction cup mount you can stick it on both sides of you bike or up front and not worry about sticking anything to your helmet or the added weight on your head. Although, the view from having it on your head is pretty cool. I put mine up top of my helmet for boarding though, that way I don't have to pick a side.
