Good Experience Being "Pulled Over"

Driving Up Royal York the other day they were running an assembly line speed trap just past the Dundas bridge. As I approach the speed trap (while moving faster than the flow of traffic) the cop walks into the middle of the road and I swear he points right at me (I even point at myself and he shakes his head yes). I pull up behind another car that appears to have also been nabbed. I sit there for a minute or so while he is having a very animated conversation with the women in front of me running through in my head my defense strategy in court... Next he walks up to me and says "Thanks for stopping but I did not pull you over, but if you want a ticket I have lots..." he was quite amused, my lucky day of course, posted for your amusement.

I've been confused by this as well. I mean it's better to pull over and find out it's not you then it is to keep going and have him chase you. If the Police have to chase you they bring an *** kicking with them.

BTW, you nod your head yes, and shake it no.

That speed trap is there every now and then. Other places on Royal York are just before the church on St. Philips, just before it turns into Royal York, and just after Lawrence (Speed trap will be at the low point of the road, by the plaza). Usually they're facing southbound traffic, there is also the very rare one facing northbound traffic just after Eglinton. Bottom line - don't speed on Royal York. Speeding is rarely possible due to traffic, though.
