Getting to / from Collingwood area from Toronto

Hey all! I'm trying to plan a route up from the west end of Toronto (high park village) to Collingwood. Ideally 80km/h, two lane roads. Was thinking Airport rd might be a safe and enjoyable bet, assuming there are no idiots out. Has anyone been up around there yet this season? :)

Thenks Shane! Much appreciated. :D

edit: WOW THAT MAP. So much to try out.

I live in that area. (Well an area you'll be passing)

With the map that was given to you id dodge steps 7-11. River, 5th, and 4th are pretty crappy with half of 5th dug up north of 88 and massive pot holes. (They layed gravel that spits up loads of dust.)

Its only a 5 min section so if you take your time it'll be fine.

If you want to dodge that just keep traveling across 9 to 27. North on 27 to 88, east on 88 to 5th (first set of lights) its a bit of a circle but good chance to get some gas or a coffee.

Otherwise weston, 27, 5th (south of 88) are all clean and pretty smooth.

I dont know the current conditions of the road or sections under construction, but I posted up that one a while back.

I live here.
9 from Creemore, west to 124. and 13 north between 4 and 26.
That's a loop I do regularly.

^^this. Airport rd and west is great, to the east is civilization. (Shudder) airport rd north of hwy 9 is actually a nice run and gets you north quickly.

Awesome! Thanks so much everyone. I finally got the bike out for the first ride of the season (also my first street ride) on Sunday and had a fantastic time touring around the west end of the city. I'm hoping with a little practice, I'll be able to make runs to Collingwood by late in the season, or next year. All the info is super helpful, and if any of you guys on the route want to go for a ride, I'll let you know when I'm passing through! :)
