I have a few questions about getting paper work in order.. I purchased a 81 xs400 a year ago for down south.. great deal.. got it across the boarder with no issues, but MTO wants an aparasil done before I can legally transfer it into my name.. I told them its not running as its a basket case and can not get it to a shop for one. Any ideas on were I can get one done with out bringing the bike with me? well I need 2 done really as I got a 80 Honda I started ripping apart before the paperwork was done..i,m in Ajax if that helps..

Kneedragger88 had a pick up and drop off service; I don't know if he still does this though.

A medium double double from McDonald's will get you an appraisal.
PM me the details and you can swing by my place and pick it up.
I'm near Westney and Taunton.

I can't help with your paperwork, but my first bike was an '81 XS400. It was so easy to ride! Hope you get it on the road and enjoy it.

I can't help with the paper work but if you need a copy of the manual I have one from when I restored an '81 XS400. Just PM me.

I bought a bike ('72 Suzuki t-350) without proper paperwork and non-running at the time.

I ended up having to rent a trailer to take it to a Suzuki dealership (good old McBride Cycle) so they could write me up an appraisal as well as a letter attesting to my possession of the bike, before MTO would issue me an ownership. That was as per MTO, 20 years ago.

(I also had to get a letter from the police showing the bike not reported as stolen.)
