Georgetown: Rider down.

There was an accident at Guelph St. Hwy. 7 and Sinclair Ave. today around 12:30. My fathers on the fire department, so his pager went off (3 tiered system). Call came through as "car vs. bike." Never a good sign.

That intersection is right by my house... No details as of yet...

I'm sure we'll find out in the next few days.

Rip rider. My dearest condolences to the family.

...and another one...sad, sad month. R.I.P. rider.

Are you sure about this?

Traffic fatalities usually show up on the Halton Police website and InsideHalton usually picks up on it too.

I know there was an accident at that intersection, and a truck driver from my buddys work said they were covering someone with a sheet.

I heard today through the Fire Hall that the rider lived - I'm glad to hear that... this practically happened in my backyard.

I'm still looking for info about this.

Nothing in the local paper on May 24th about this report. http://www.theifp.ca/news/

It would seem that the "reported/rumoured" motorcycle accident never happened.

Dude, I heard the fire call come through...

Also, unrelated, another one today... someone on a vespa ran into a tree in Terra Cotta...

I guess we'll find out in the next couple days. I'm just glad the rider is in one piece, not everyone is so lucky. -Either way, they still went down...

The accident happened. I work in Georgetown and was returning to work after picking up lunch when I passed through the intersection of Guelph and Sinclair and saw EMS crew working on a person lying in the intersection. A fire truck drove past the plaza I was exiting on Mountainview with lights and sirens on so I basically followed it to the scene, just minutes behind.
I could not see the condition of the person to how serious their injuries were but they were lying on the ground and not moving at all. I saw a yellow sports bike lying on its side on the northwest curb of the intersection. Fire, ambulance and police were on scene. I didn't see much other detail as I did not want to hold up traffic (had to go through the intersection slow so I did see what I saw). I didn't see who else may have been involved.
I have been trying to find information on this accident find out about the driver... it was quite a grim looking scene and I was hoping to hear that the driver made it. Matt, if you hear anymore keep us posted.

Thanks!

Edit:
This is all the Independent Free Press has on the accident: http://www.theifp.ca/news/fire-calls-may-21-27/
