that was jason lawarance. i think he jumped the gate too soon and it was too obvious so he pulled to the side hoping not to get black flagged.
 
The rod that rotates for the gate pin was probably pinched under the front tire of the first bike that jumped it causing the pin to rotate slowly instead of dropping off right away... Pretty funny but pretty sure that would have been a red flag restart.

Not nearly as embarrassing as what happened at the MEC in Vegas this year with the digital malfunction.
