Ganny parking advice

Next weekend I plan to bring two young guys on Honda 50`s to the Ganny.
Looking for a good staging area that I can park my truck and watch these little guys ride a bit of a track/trail system with out straying to far from the truck.
Does anyone know of a parking place like this?
Any advice is good,
Thank you.

I always park in P3. P2 is a gong show most of the time with people parking all over the place. P3 is a big wide open sand parking area.

To get to P3 you head east on Boundary Rd off the 115. Turn right into the Ganaraska Forest. As soon as you turn in you are in P2. Take the first right dirt road and it'll take you to P3.

Another decent place would be "Big Dog Parking" as we call it (because we quite frequently see this big black dog hanging around), look for it bookmarked on this map:

Switch the map to Satellite view, and if you look just West of that parking area you'll see a nice open area between two patches of forest. That big open area would be ideal to watch your boys to make sure they are getting along OK. No trees, nice wide trails - the only issue is that area is sandy and a little whoopsied - otherwise a great learning area.

Also - that parking lot is technically outside of the Ganny; I've never had a problem parking there and I know many others that do, but just be aware.

I can see my house :)

On a slightly related note ,is there still a ghetto motocross track in the woods south of rice lake somewhere? I found it while exploring a few years ago, but didn't really know where I was. You could trailer the bikes right to the track and there were often kids ripping around. The area has some trails too. It's quite sandy. Anyone know where it is or if it still exists?

If you are serious I'm SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO JEALOUS!!!! I would love to live somewhere that has trails like this in my backyard.

So - is that YOUR dog??? ;)

I'm just on the east side of the unassumed part of the 8th (the batcave). ha ha, no, not my dog. One of these days I'll get a dirty bike and come out and play.

Great thread! The Ganny is on my to-do list and for folks who've never been the map is invaluable. Thanks for the link Xhumeka.

Would this be a good place for me to request somebody (Xhumeka, you up for it?) to create a new post for the folks that have yet to experience the Ganny? Tips, advice, what to see, what NOT to do, best spots to ride based on rider skill etc...

I've only ridden a couple of times there and even then only in a small area (didn't have much time to explore and was riding solo).

Cheers,
Daryl
