I had my furnace/ac circuit board replaced back in November, due to water damage from what was believed to be by not replacing the air filters frequently enough.
Last week, the same circuit board was water damaged again (this the last few months i have aggressively replaced hte air filters).
"Markham Heating" is the company that is providing me their services, and I asked if the circuit board can be covered under warranty....they can't guarantee it will be covered under warranty, and the only way to tell is if they come in and charge $100 for an hr of labor off the bat. They charged 240 for the circuit board replacement, which seems pretty steep with what the prices im referencing online. And another 80 for "service call"
My friend thinks the evap coils may be responsible for the water damage. In any case, the water damage was not properly diagnosed the first time around. I feel like if I go with these guys, I'm just ognna keep throwing money at circuit boards.
TO have them inspect the board for warranty eligibility, it would be a minimum of 180 (100 for labour and 80 for service call).
Looking for suggestions on good repairmen/services, or other advice. Thanks.
Further details:
- original circuit board is a tempstar N9MP050B12
- replaced circuit board is a honeywell st9120u
