Fuel milage on a gixxer

My previous 07 gixxer had the stock exhaust,my new 07 gixxer (lol) came with a yoshimura exhaust. Previous bike could get me 220-240km before filling up. Current bike gets 150-180 max. Oil changed recently, no change. 87 octane. I have not changed the air filter, is there anything else I should consider?

Is the gearing stock on your second one? I get about 180/tank on an 06 750 with -1/+2.

Depends on how you ride and if Hwy or city streets.

I have seen up to 300km on a tank with my '11 750....stock gears, M4 slip-on. Mind you, only when riding very sedately, shifting early, etc.

I have seen as low as 180kms on spirited rides and 370kms on back road paced rides with my father in law.
It highly depends how you ride and what you classify as empty.
But 150kms feels low.

is this 150-180 to pretty much completely empty?

seems low though either way for a newish bike... my 98 zx7 with full exhaust will get to 200-220 mostly city if i let it go to the end. Thats with semi-spirited riding....

I usually fill it at 185-ish...

Light comes on at 150-160, same style riding as with previous bike. Wat maintinance things should be considered?

You don't say how many kms on it. If its near or above 18000km, time for an air cleaner. You should be 220ish before light comes on. That is in country riding, not sitting at stop lights every 2 minutes.

From my manual:

Your motorcycle requries premium unleaded gasoline whenever possible, with a minimum pump octane rating of 90 ((R+M)/2 method).

Gixxer 600, 750 or 1000?

The bike is fuel injected. Dirty air cleaner won't affect air/fuel mix. If anything, a dirty air cleaner will use less fuel with a drop in power.

Sounds like someone tuned the bike's EFI mapping for that Yosh pipe. It's likely flowing a lot more air/fuel.

If it's a full pipe, they likely removed the catalytic converter.
