Front wheel mounted backwards!!!!!!!!

WOW!! Suzuki of Newmarket mounting a front wheel on backwards on a GSXR.

Saw the bike with my own eyes and shook my head.

Poor guy is so upset and was left hanging by staff at SON.

Can't believe that Suzuki Canada allows them to continue to operate.

You mean a front tire? And if so, are you sure, the tread pattern on a front tire is reverse of the rear tire.

NO the (wheel / rim and tire assembly) was mounted backwards. There is a directional rotation arrow on the rim and its pointing backwards!! Dangerous because the bike handling changes.

Agreed, and opposite what you may think compared to cars with the flat tread. And rim wise ..... not too important as long as it's balanced.

I was going to ask how that's possible, but then I realized that a lot of bikes have dual front discs, make it pretty easy to do I guess.

Only if you're an idiot.

Both the rim AND the tire have directional arrows on them.

I did this by accident on my track bike, the tread pattern looks backwards on the Dunlop 211 and I didn't realize till lunch. Didn't hurt anything but felt like a retard.

The rim is designed to have more strength in one direction to be able to withstand braking forces. On some bikes you can see this by the way the spokes are arced rather than straight. For sure if the rim has an arrow on it then they (Suzuki) want you to install it that way. Of course this is also true of tires, but that's a bit more obvious. Now I know to stay away from SON!

I think the Kawi front rims are symmetrical so you can run them backwards but the Dunlop fronts should not be run backwards.

It was on my 07 gsxr, I haven't seen an arrow on the rim but tire definatly has one. It didn't seem to effect anything but it was my first day on the bike/track and I was only doing 1:30's at tmp. Dave the tire guy quickly pointed out you can't flip these and it might have been causing premature wear. Lesson learned.

If you rolled the bike forward a bit, so that the arrow was at the front most part of the bike when looking at it, you would realize that the arrow is not pointing backwards, but UP!!! This is how you put a GSXR in "Wheelie Mode" ... duhhh!!

Wish I could see the look on their face when you bring the bike back.

Why was he left hanging?
