From passing thought to reality in two weeks...

Hey guys,

So a little over two weeks ago I never gave a second thought about riding a motorcycle. That all changed when three weeks ago my girlfriend bought a shiny new Kawasaki Ninja 300. Well, I couldn't very well sit behind her(!), so I looked into this motorcycle business for myself. I signed up and passed the M1. The same week I signed up at RTI and and passed the M2 course. (BTW the course was great, and the instructors were top notch!). During the week I researched bikes, as I was thinking of getting my own. Researched insurance, researched everything I possibly could on sites like these. By last Friday, paperwork was finalized on...

Lol thanks guys! Ya, I wasn't productive at work at all the last two weeks as I was pouring through forums and reading reviews and such allllll day!
 
Nice to act on 'the itch'! Great that your gf rides too, 2upping was never my thing and don't get why people like it when you can have two 1 ups instead.

Congrats.. excellent timing. How do you like the 500r ? Have you had a chance to compare it to your GF's 300r ?
 
I really love it. We've ridden together over the weekend, but can't fairly compare the two yet - she's breaking in the 300 very conservatively, and not really going past 4000-5000 rpm, we know it sings way beyond that. But things I've noticed:

- lots more torque on the low end of the 500r
- 500r feels lot smoother at the low speeds we've been going at, 300 has a bit of vibration
- 300 is sexy. Gets more compliments, but maybe that's because my GF is better looking than me too. ;)
