Friday May 18, Toronto to Quebec city.

I am taking the day off work Friday May 18th and I am planning a trip from Toronto to Quebec City. I will be taking highway 7 through Ottawa, making a pit stop for some food at my girlfriend's place in Montreal (and maybe one other food stop on the road before that), then strapping her to the back of my bike and heading to her friend's place in Quebec City. Anyone is welcome to come for the ride with 250cc or more and who is confident and comfortable at highway speeds. Anyone going is welcome to split and head home, or branch off and go somewhere else, or go anywhere they want at any time or location during the ride. If anyone wants to make the trek all the way to Montreal they are welcome to eat with my girlfriend and I at her place. Once you reach your final destination, wherever you may decide that to be, you'll have to find your own accommodations. I will be staying with my girlfriend and her friend so unfortunately others will have to find a hotel, motel, friend's place, etc. Also, I don't want to be making 30 minute long stops to talk every 100 kms, so keep that in mind. I set up rides to ride, not to sit there and converse. :p At the same time, I obviously don't mind stopping for pee breaks, they just have to be made in a timely fashion. Organizing will be done via PM, so if you want more info or want to come along for part or all of the ride shoot me one!

I plan to leave the east end (Scarborough to Oshawa area) around 8 am. Pace will be limit +20%. Exact meeting time and location will be handed out via PM messages. I don't want a dozen people showing up at the last minute. Doing it by PM will allow me to control the group size.

I don't really want to deviate from my route very much even though nice twisties I am unaware of may be relatively close to the route, as I have to be in Quebec City in time for dinner. Also, I have a GPS and will obviously be leading.

This is the route I have been planning...

EDIT: I changed up the route quite a bit and changed my departure time. Refer to post #12 for changes.

You mean you're going to feed us and then just kick us out?? ;) I would love to go as I love Montreal and have an old friend who lives there. However it looks like I may be on call for the day and therefore unable to leave town. Who knows though. Things could change. If they do I'll pm you, otherwise enjoy your trip and ride safe :)

Thanks. And I hope things change and you can make it! Would be a fun ride, I think.

Yeah :) hope you don't mind a ninja 250. But do long as we are doing a healthy 100-120 I feel alright. Still a bit nervous as I have little riding under my belt (4months). I hope so too. I'd love to go down to st Catherine st and take in all the sights and sounds. Was there 3 years ago for jazz fest.

250's are plenty fast to keep up on the highway. Highway 7 is an 80 limit anyway so I'll only be doing 95-100. Where it is 100 limit on the main highways (417 in Ontario and 20 in Quebec) I will be going 120, though. I will be doing a real 120, not what my gauge says. 120 km/h actual speed my gauge indicates 128 km/h. My buddy's Ninja 250 (same bike I started riding on) says 130 km/h doing an actual speed of 120 so yours would probably be the same.

That's helpful and good to know. And I wouldn't have a problem with that at all. Cheers :)

I may have Thursday off this week as well. If no one is able to go for the ride with me on Friday then I will probably do it on Thursday.

Ok, so I couldn't resist but make some route changes. I'd now like to leave the Scarborough area by 6 AM Friday, and here is the new route I have planned.
