Fresh Gravel - King Vaughan Road

For some reason they decided to completely cover King Vaughan Road in fine gravel. They've got signs up indicating "Fresh Gravel". :(

yep I found that out the hard way also. Rode 2-3 kms on that super fine gravel. I think they are getting ready to spray the asphalt type sealer soon. Once thats done , it makes for a good friction course type road- excellent grip. Not the smoothest ride though.

Hope that's the case... It was a nice road close to Toronto.

If you ride just north of Nobelton. Sideroad 17 just west of hwy 27 . I think they did the same thing there.

God damn it.... They covered King Vaughan road with gravel last year.... Scared the **** out of me as I was going about 100km/h and gravel appeared out of nowhere.

I have my doubts about the city actually sealing the road since they didnt last year either. They just put gravel everywhere, covered a few holes with asphalt, and the gravel stayed.

Can anyone provide a bit more clarity in terms of which stretch?
I travel the Bathurst-->Jane stretch quite a bit..

The section that I rode was between Pine Valley and Kipling. I'm not sure how much further east of Pine Valley the limits are.

The normal process is to spray the tar and then dump the gravel on top. some of it sticks, and the rest moves around to make little heaps between the tire tracks. Especially dangerous at intersections until traffic disperses it all. They used to come back and clean up the excess but I haven't seen that activity for a few years. Be careful.

That's a different process than what they are doing here. The gravel is already down , they haven't sprayed the asphalt sealer as of Sunday.

I almost lost the front end making the left from Weston road on to king Vaughan town line . I couldn't see the sign from Weston road . Be careful .
