I am looking to get recommendations for free or relaively cheap camping sites between Toronto to Nova Scotia.

Sites around:
-Ottawa
-Montreal
-Quebec City
-Fredericton
-Moncton
-and places in Nova Scotia

Please recommed only places where you have camped at these places. I am planning on leaving end of June for a week.

If you get out to Cape Breton Island I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend Meat Cove. It's at the North tip and the guy only takes reservations the day of your arrival. Stayed there for a few days and it's a great place.

Yes that's the one...I did a road trip (car) around the East Coast a few years ago and we stopped there for a night. Amazing place. And the roads around the island are phenomenal so that's a nice break between driving around the entire island.
I'm surprised the guy's even got a website! LoL Might be new ownership since when I was there.

Nice recommendation. Will def stay there, looks beautiful. I am planning to ride out there on my bike...pretty excited.

Just be aware that there is about 8km of dirt/gravel road that you need to go over to get there. And when I was there last year it was extremely full of potholes to the point where you had to decide which one you wanted to hit as the was no way to avoid them

Bump.

Any more ideas? Some family friends will be touring out east this summer so they're looking for cheap places to stay.

Go to Meat Cove x1000!

I wasn't on a bike but my (Fiance at the time - wife now) and I took our little Toyota Echo for a 14 day road trip and basically did the entire eastern seaboard.

Would you be able to point out this area on google maps. So I can see the satelite view of what I will be dealing with. Thanks
