Frame Welding

call ted at rosey toes, there is a welder the next unit down from his shop 416-241-2523

Aaron at Weirtech in Burlington.

Very high quality fabrication work. He's done some small stuff for me and i was pleased.

Be sure to drill a small hole at the end of the crack to terminate the telegraphing of the crack, before welding .

Thanks for the recommendation, i've heard of Aaron through my Automotive business. Dropped off the frame in the morning today and picked it up in the afternoon, awesome work, great price and quick turn around!

I took a frame to an excellent welder in London and he didn't drill out hole as I would have expected as well. He actually ground out the whole crack (it was about a half inch long) he ground the crack out to about 1/8" wide and welded it shut by building up material in the area until he filled it. He also told me he laid it on pretty thick to ensure plenty of material in the cross section to help the weakness of the area due to the HAZ.

Caboose, if you ever need a frame for your zx10 I have one with a crack in it. It has my vin on it but we can grind that off.

Funny how some crack and some don't. Mine did not live an easy life and never cracked. The next 10R i ride will hopefully be a 3rd gen tho, but thanks for the offer.
