Question about frame sliders. Would it be possible to build a frame slider that has a spring/damper system so that the energy was no transmitted to the frame/bracket?

Do those work well? It looks thinner and longer and makes me wonder if it'll break if hit from the side (going down when you're moving). Initial thought is its only good for a direct hit (tipping over the bike while stopped).

Try it, report back. TOFTT

I've never seen direct impact damage from frame sliders, it's always been damage from the slider catching on something and bending / snapping that's caused damage to the frame.

I guess my super big ultra extended sliders are primarily for protecting the bodywork if you drop it when not moving?? :(
