Anyone know where to purchase fork seal drivers? Specifically I'm looking for a 48mm one...
Getting very frustrated finding decent tools in Canada lately!
I've always done this using a piece of PVC pipe and the old fork seal. If you can't get a piece of PVC pipe that's the exact diameter, just use one slightly bigger and cut a slot out of the length of it so that you can compress it to the slightly smaller diameter needed.
You can get them at any bike shop that uses parts canada, which is most. As Brian P said, PVC works wonders. I researched mine and found a youtube video showing a guy using the old seals to drive in the new seals with a screwdirver. I tried it and it worked awesome. The video was great and gave me the confidence to tackle the job myself and save a few bucks. The guy was doing the forks in the parking lot on a towel and using a dirty rag to clean everything.
Royal Distributing used to sell them, call them, they might still.
