Fork installation question

Gonna be installing race tech springs on my 2009 sv650. My question is how much oil do I put in the forks, and what size do I cut the spacers, the instructions are vague, and don't mention anything on oil. I'm thinking of using 10w oil, is that too much or not enough, thanks

The service manual will have that measurement for you (it's not a set amount but rather a distance from the top of the compressed tube) or Race Tech will have a number if they recommend different from stock.

Next time buy Sonic Springs. Rich is a great guy who answers any questions you may have and provides proper instructions.

The size of the spacers will be used to get the correct pre-load. I recommend to use 20W oil to keep the front "calm".
The oil level is measured from the top down, I'll have to check my books but I recall about 120mm was a pretty sweet spot.

Will you be installing the Race Tech emulators as well?

Rich & Sonic Springs are the real deal. Quick, knowledgeable service and decent pricing.

Dont mean to hijack the thread but I went to their site and saw they had 1.1kg front springs for my 2005 cbr600rr for 79 bucks, race-tech was 114. Was wondering didn't find gold valves on Rich & Sonic site. Would race-tech valve kit work with Rich & Sonic springs. I'm trying to price out my 2014 trackday shopping list.
