I've also thought that jumping up just before impact and going over an oncoming car is better than dropping a shoulder and trying to go through it.

a buddy of mine vaulted a car that turned in his path back when were kids. He did he flip through the air sticking the landing on his feet. Unfortunately this was before parkour, so he didn't make use of the momentum and it shattered his knees...
