Flight to France

I want to book a flight to so see my family in France. Before this my ex used to book my tickets. Where online can I find cheap flights and book my ticket. I am either looking to go in Nov or Dec.

Is it better to book online or with a travel agent?

hotwire.ca usually does it for me. Typically cheaper than agents. By the way love the nick, do any rifle shooting as well?

Ive used expedia numerous times traveling around the world and prices are usually good and always hassle free.

I find your post amusing for some odd reason.

So you have a gun as your avatar, your username is part of the gun's name and you made it known in a previous post that you do have a gun.
You have some kinda motorcycle meaning you figured out how to do the testing and to buy and insure one.
You rent or pay a mortgage meaning you figured out how to do that as well.

Did he do all of those things for you too or did you manage to do all of these things but somehow unable to google cheap flights to France?:lmao:

So you call it "trolling" because I state my observation?
If a person can do all of the things I listed then can't even google cheap flights to France then that is funny to me.
Did I create the thread?
Just sayin:cool:

"Troll" accusations are a shot across the bow. "Internet troll", gloves are off. Does not matter content of post responded to. Certain observation shall not be spoken of while lack of reading comprehension (called by OP) will not be tolerated.

Google "Chris Myden" then subscribe to his e-mail alerts for Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal airports. You'll hear about special offers long before others.

For instance, currently a deal for return flight to Thailand for $950 taxes in from Toronto.

Oh yeah....also....go to Buffalo...you'll probably pay heaps less to get to Europe because of reduced "security" fees etc but you will have layovers, probably in Chicago or New York.

Dammit..lastly....look at flights to the UK on Canadian Affair or Air Transcrap (Transat).....you can get to France pretty cheap from nearly anywhere in the UK.

I can't give too much advice, but I've noticed that whenever I book flights, I rarely see sites like travelocity or expedia offer better prices than the airline itself. I am only speaking about direct flights though. I am not sure about indirect ones.

travelocity, expedia, hotwire all post deals, as do the airlines themselves. If you have time shop it and check a couple times a week, the rates on websites will go up and down several hundred dollars in a week. Its a supply/demand thing.

You may get a better rate departing from the US (buffalo) but you need to get to US and you will have to do a connect, What's your time worth?

Once you find a deal you can live with, book it and dont check prices again, just enjoy your trip.

I agree

I used TripCentral to book a flight to UK. Got a good price on Air Canada to Heathrow.

THIS! +1..

Prices are the same as booking directly with the airline these days and if there is some variance its very little from what I have seen.

My last several flights I was booking with Expedia but I will no longer be doing that, even if it means paying a few extra dollars... Booking with the agents is fine when everything goes according to plan BUT if things do not and you need some last minute changes on the fly, the airline has more power (and speed) dealing with exceptional circumstances...

I discovered what I pain booking with Expedia can be vs straight with the airline when I had to fly home due to an emergency.. The airline (Air Canada) could of just changed my flight at the airport while with Expedia I had to call them and stay on the line for 3-4 hours I stood outside the air canada ticketing office while they tried to sort it out. They couldn't do it at the end of the day because they couldn't get the right people on the line so I had to buy a new ticket from Air Canada directly and then get issued a credit for my old ticket from Expedia. It was an amazing hassle and I'll be sticking with the airlines directly now.

Since it seems like this is turning into a general cheap flight tips thread (not that I'm complaining):

This is my usual go-to: http://www.skyscanner.net If you haven't decided on a date yet, use the "whole month" feature so you can leave on the cheapest date and book your vacation accordingly.

I used to use expedia, but this is often a couple hundred cheaper when I'm looking. I've also had some bad experiences with Expedia that their staff didn't even seem willing to help with.

Also, google "travel-hacking" and there are tons of tips for you to find cheaper flights. But to be honest, some of the things require so much work that I can't justify the headaches that come with it.

Some other things you can do:
- find a cheap flight using a travel aggregator (hotwire, expedia etc.) then go directly to the airline's website to save on the service fee/add-on
- fly to a hub: bangkok, JFK, heathrow, LA, etc. are all hubs with hundreds of flights in every direction. They'll sell off seats cheaper if they can't be filled
- break up your flights. You can actually save hundreds doing this. Sometimes it's at the cost of a longer layover, but it depends on how much time you have. Sometimes a day in another country on the way to your final destination isn't necessarily a bad thing, right? You also don't necessarily even have to have long layovers...sometimes the flight aggregator sites miss certain flights or don't deal with certain airlines. So you just have to book individual flights to connect yourself.

Thanks!

just bear in mind for those booking flights with discount wholesalers like travelocity, expedia ect.
If your doing connectors or wish to change a flt its a major pain if doable at all at the service counter level at the airport, "oh this was booked thru travelocity (or whatever) , we cant make changes..."

been there...

The only way to get cheap flights is to date a flight attendant, I am dating one & on Sunday we are flying to Greece...round trip for both of us is $170.00
